Polarization optical bistability in nematic liquid-crystals

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract / Description of output

The first demonstration of high contrast polarisation bistability due to thermally induced cavity and reorientational effects is reported. A novel configuration for bistable polarisation switches in a birefringent nonlinear cavity is also demonstrated and described theoretically.
