Abstract

This chapter reviews a range of scholarship working at the intersection of queer theory and critical medical humanities in 2022 and 2023 under the following headings: 1. HIV/AIDS; 2. Healthcare Environments; 3. Trans Health Studies; and 4. Bioethics. The chapter sets out emergent movements within queer medical humanities and articulates how scholars utilise queer theory and analysis to encourage critical change within medical and healthcare theory and practice. The chapter provides a baseline for understanding how queer theory is adapted to interdisciplinary studies, especially in the UK and Europe
