Abstract

This pamphlet is a quick-start guide for homeowners on retrofitting historic sash and case windows. The guide clarifies the process involved and includes a series of checklists to help homeowners consider the heritage conservation, energy efficiency, and usability aspects of window retrofits. The content is based on actual retrofit experiences of Edinburgh residents and has been vetted by members of Historic Environment Scotland, Edinburgh World Heritage, and the City of Edinburgh Council for accuracy and practicality.
