Abstract
Nanopore filtration substantially reduces crystal formation by non-photochemical laser-induced nucleation (NPLIN). Analysis of residues suggests the presence of solid iron phosphate nanoparticle impurities in NH4Cl. We show that doping with iron-oxide nanoparticles can promote NPLIN and propose a mechanism for NPLIN based on heating of solid nanoparticles present as trace impurities.
