Salvation for Sheep and Bones: Ezek 34 and 37 as Corner Pillars of Ezekiel’s Prophecy of Salvation

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contribution

Abstract

The contribution traces the literary growth of the two chapters Ezek 34 and 37 that have framed for a long time the salvation prophecies in the third part of the book. It aims at showing that the literary devel¬opment took place in a reciprocal process of innerbiblical exegesis that shaped the two chapters in form of a compendium of salvation prophecies. Thus, the literary develop¬ment bears witness of an exegetical discussion on what to hope in post-exilic times.
