Abstract

The paper draws a comparison between teaching art in an American University, UMass at Amherst, with teaching at Edinburgh college of Art, Edinburgh University.
It considers different teaching structures, and different studio cultures as well as the relative experiences of teaching in a modular system compared to a developmental one.
