Abstract
This was a review of Scottish artist Martin Creed's exhibition at the Fruitmarket Gallery (30th July-31st August 2011) The exhibition was the first by the artist to link the presentation of artwork under a thematic title. 'Down Over Up' presented 20 recent artworks which all employed a quality of procession. The significant question that the review asks is how can artists who utilize the quotidian remain ordinary especially in thematically presented exhibitions.
