Abstract / Description of output

The question of whether, and if so to what extent, artificial intelligence (AI) can develop creativity is an important research topic in the AI community. The fact that artists use computers innovatively has already led to speculation in the 1950s about the effects on the copyright of computer-generated works. The effects of computer creativity on patent law are less debated. The article is intended to provide an initial overview of the problems that the legal system could face if AI and robots find new solutions to problems that may result in patentable inventions
