Abstract / Description of output

"self organising systems" was commissioned by the 'dialogues' and 'sonorities' festivals with support from Creative Scotland/PRSF "Beyond Borders" grant. Internationally renowned improvising saxophonist Evan Parker worked different groups of musicians at the two festivals to explore a variety of improvisational methods and strategies. An ethnographer was involved in the documentation of the project and a website was developed to host the data from the project. The site is intended to inform future improvisational projects and research into improvisation.
