38 papers presented by a range of academics, artists, and designers, including:

'The Great Outdoors: Adventures & artifice beyond the picture-plane', presented by Jonathan Gibbs. The symposium included an exhibition in the Sculpture Court, showing works by the speakers and by invited artists and designers, on the theme of Landscape in Illustration. Additionally, all academic staff in Illustration and all students exhibited current works as a synthesis of academic study, research and professional practice. 

Prologue: 
Illustrators, Mapmakers, Printmakers, Travellers, Tourists, Antiquarians, Watercolourists, Ethnographers and Experimental Archaeologists are invited to share their journeys through Illustration at our meeting place.
