Abstract / Description of output
This paper describes an experimental investigation of masonry strengthened with
GFRP. Square masonry walls of clay or concrete bricks were built, and strengthened
using sheet GFRP (applied by the wet lay-up method). These specimens were tested under a combination of in-plane shear load, and vertical prestress (representing the weight of the building above). Preliminary results and experimental observations are presented, and their implications discussed.
