Other details: Exhibition centered round the relationship between Drawing and Making in relation to the interpretation of the delineation of landscape. 30 paintings relating to the divisions encountered on walking in Edinburgh, examining the point where two buildings meet.
The Paintings were based on photographic documentation of the superficial skins that delineates the physical three-dimensional space marking territories, where one building meets another. The paintings employed a juxtaposition of heraldic motifs, re-description of colour junctions. These works were juxtaposed with Sara Brennan’s Drawings and Tapestries that were focused on the contour line.
Lines that appear on maps, in fields, on streets - articulating space: enclosing or excluding. Information transcribed through notation, visual traces reconstructed in material form.
