Abstract

Five short films (all under three minutes) made in collaboration with musician Davy Henderson.
This work began as a result of the film Coleslaw, created in collaboration with Davy Henderson(as Soland Goose) for the Polarcap exhibition Vegetable Loves.
For this series of works which began in late 2011 I recorded footage of the landscape, mainly in and around east Lothian. I was searching for traces of human toil and/or the implication of time spanning generations. This footage was reduced to five short films which became like moving photographs.
Davy Henderson then made sound pieces to fit.
The work continues to investigate current themes of enquiry including slowness and materiality.
These works were exhibited as part of an installation in Weaving Home, a solo show at GalleryGallery, Kyoto in Feb 2012 and formed the basis for the exhibition Interrupted Landing at Meiji Gakuin University 2012
