Abstract

We investigated transmission characteristics of vCJD in a Spanish mother and son. Despite differences in age and presentation of disease, our study demonstrates the same strain properties in both individuals and UK vCJD. A single strain of agent appears to be responsible for all cases of vCJD tested to date.
