Abstract
Two responsive environments were implemented using prototype speck technology called Prospeckz: a behaviourally-responsive suite of furniture, and an emotionally-responsive mood cloud. The paper describes their implementation and their deployment at an arts exhibition in Edinburgh in December 2004. The results of a survey of the visitors to the exhibition are analysed and light is cast on issues, which may be significant towards the acceptance of responsive environments in people's everyday lives.
