Abstract

This book provides independent best practice guidance on the design, selection, detailing, installation and subsequent maintenance of externally bonded fibre-reinforced polymers for metallic structures. It provides advice on the most appropriate methods, discussing the advantages and disadvantages of each method, both in terms of cost- effectiveness and long-term performance.

The guidance is aimed at those who design the strengtheningworks as well as those who carry out the installation. It is also relevant in terms of broader asset management considerations.
