Abstract / Description of output

Strip Horizon is a proposal for a flexible, scalable residential neighbourhood that provides a wide variety of affordable housing options while simultaneously fostering a sense of community and collectiveness. Its design is primarily concerned with the rationalisation and the sustainability of its construction process, as well as with facilitating opportunities for informal social interaction at various scales, hence creating a focus of soft, low-impact urbanity in the municipality of Runavík. This proposal was selected as one of four finalists in the Nordic Built Cities Challenge.
