Abstract

I was selected to exhibit a new collection of enamelled jewellery as part of 'Schmuck' 2017, a specialised contemporary jewellery show held during the 69th International Trade Fair, Munich, Germany from 8th -14th March 2017. In 2016 there were 704 applications from 50 countries. Invited juror, Cornelie Holzach (director of the Schmuckmuseum, Pforzheim, Germany) selected 67 artist jewellers from 31 countries. I am the sole representative for the UK. My submission included 7 pieces of new experimental work using vitreous enamel on steel and an artist statement. From this submission 5 pieces were selected. To accompany the exhibition there was a printed colour catalogue with contributions from each jeweller (image & CV) and critical essays by Wolfgang Losche (Director of Schmuck) Cornelie Holzach (as above) and Dr.Gert Bruckner (Managing chairman, Danner Foundation).
