Abstract
Peste des petits ruminants (PPR) is a transboundary disease with vast socioeconomic implications in many regions of Africa and South Asia. An updated, synthesised evidence base on PPR epidemiological data is essential to inform economic impact models and decision-making.
Objective: To collate and map recent studies on prevalence, incidence, disease-associated mortality and morbidity, and the gender disaggregated impact of PPR in Africa and South Asia.
Global Input: This study is part of a wider livestock disease evidence synthesis initiative to capture epidemiological data, as well as socioeconomic parameters. It includes a global expert consultation, with incountry input from across Africa and South Asia, to ensure approaches are co-created and as contextually relevant as possible.
