Test of lepton flavor universality using ๐ต0โ†’๐ท*โˆ’โข๐œ+โข๐œˆ๐œ decays with hadronic ๐œ channels

Abstract / Description of output

The branching fraction โ„ฌโก(๐ต0โ†’๐ท*โˆ’โข๐œ+โข๐œˆ๐œ) is measured relative to that of the normalization mode ๐ต0โ†’๐ท*โˆ’โข๐œ‹+โข๐œ‹โˆ’โข๐œ‹+ using hadronic ๐œ+โ†’๐œ‹+โก๐œ‹โˆ’โก๐œ‹+โก(๐œ‹0)โขยฏ๐œˆ
๐œ decays in proton-proton collision data at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV collected by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2โ€‰โ€‰fbโˆ’1. The measured ratio is โ„ฌโก(๐ต0โ†’๐ท*โˆ’โข๐œ+โข๐œˆ๐œ)/โ„ฌโก(๐ต0โ†’๐ท*โˆ’โข๐œ‹+โข๐œ‹โˆ’โข๐œ‹+)=1.70ยฑ0.1โข0+0.11โˆ’0.10, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is related to systematic effects. Using established branching fractions for the ๐ต0โ†’๐ท*โˆ’โข๐œ‹+โข๐œ‹โˆ’โข๐œ‹+ and ๐ต0โ†’๐ท*โˆ’โข๐œ‡+โข๐œˆ๐œ‡ modes, the lepton universality test โ„›โก(๐ท*โˆ’)โ‰กโ„ฌโก(๐ต0โ†’๐ท*โˆ’โข๐œ+โข๐œˆ๐œ)/โ„ฌโก(๐ต0โ†’๐ท*โˆ’โข๐œ‡+โข๐œˆ๐œ‡) is calculated, โ„›โก(๐ท*โˆ’)=0.247ยฑ0.015ยฑ0.015ยฑ0.012, where the third uncertainty is due to the uncertainties on the external branching fractions. This result is consistent with the Standard Model prediction and with previous measurements.
