Abstract

The syntheses, structures and magnetic properties of a host of polymetallic 3d transition-metal clusters made with the pro-ligand benzotriazole (BtaH) and its analogues are reported. These range from a family of tetradecametallic clusters with spin ground states as large as S approximate to 25, to decametallic vanadium "boxes", to iron and manganese tetra- and super-tetrahedra, to hexaicosametallic manganese single-molecule magnets.
