Abstract

This piece edits a previously unpublished letter from the late Andrew B W MacEwen to the editor, putting forward a new view of the descent of the pre-1300 earls of Carrick as well as other pedigrees. The editor supplies the underlying references and a pedigree chart as well as a provisional bibliography of MacEwen.
