Abstract
An article about decentering the Ossianic controversy and foregrounding the Gaelic narrative tradition (written and oral), so that the Gaelic tradition can speak on its own terms and not be defined in relation to James Macpherson. Includes some comment on the current sociolinguistic and legislative position of Gaelic.
