Abstract / Description of output

The Herschel-ATLAS project (H-ATLAS) is the largest open time key programme on the Her-schel Space Observatory. It is a large area survey of three extragalactic fields covering a total of 550 sq. deg. at wavelengths of 100, 160, 250, 350 and 500 microns. The aim of the H-ATLAS programme is to determine the dust properties of galaxies in the local universe (out to z 0.3), to search for rare objects such as very high luminosity and lensed dusty galaxies at high red-shift, to provide complementary high resolution data to the Planck project and to study dust emission in our own Galaxy at high lattitudes. We present early results from the H-ATLAS programme based on those parts of the survey observed during the early phases of the Herschel mission.
