Abstract / Description of output
This is an obituary of E. F. K. Koerner, summarising his life and work, and arguing that the 'revolutions' in linguistics which were a key theme of his research actually include a revolution of his own, which successfully overthrew the domination of particular institutions and schools of thought, and has helped to make linguistics a much more diverse field of study.
