An exhibition and festival created to celebrate the 1000 year old wooden printing blocks, the Tripitaka Koreana, stored in the Haeinsa Temple, on which the history of Korea is carved. A group of international artists were invited to create an original art work on the theme of ‘The Mind’ using print as an expressive medium to illustrate the technological and expressive advances made in graphic art during those 1000 years. All works in the exhibition are illustrated in a catalogue published as a permanent record of the event. Other celebrations included installations and performances by Bill Viola, Blake Carrington, Sonam Dolna and Xu Bing.
