Abstract / Description of output

The Other Travel Agency - Inner Journey is series of mixed media art Installations and sculptural structures, created as part of a collaborative engagement project led by Inglis, which explored equality in disability arts studios, organised by the Nordic Outsider Art Network. The workshop brought Inglis' participatory practise, using readily available, recycled and discarded, found materials to a group of mixed ability artists, resident at the INUTI studios, Stockholm, to create a new body of collaborative art works. The project was run as a dynamic non-hierarchical collaboration; sharing ideas, working methods, new materials and techniques.

The resulting mixed media artworks were mobile, and placed or pulled through the streets around the INUTI Gallery, as a live sculptural performance on 24.05.19 and subsequently exhibited in the INUTI gallery 24.05.19 to 31.05.2019 Following on from this, the artworks were included in a wider internationally touring exhibition THE OTHER TRAVEL AGENCY, which has been exhibited in venues including the European Parliament Gallery, Brussels 24.09.2019 to 26.09.2019 to an audience of more than 5000 and Pertti's Choice, Helsinki 11.10.2019 to 11.12.2019.

The other travel agency exhibition also features a filmed documentary created by Inglis which records this experience and gives the artists involved an opportunity to have their voices heard.
