Abstract / Description of output

The potential for stored carbon dioxide to leak into the environment has been a concern for many communities located within the vicinity of proposed carbon capture and storage (CCS) sites. Indeed, these concerns have led to a number of CCS projects being shelved. Dr Stuart Gilfi llan a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Edinburgh talks to Muriel Cozier about his novel research investigating the potential for noble gases to be used as tracers for CO2 monitoring within CO2 storage sites as early warning tracers for CO2 leakage.
