Abstract

The management of any significant change in large institutions requires a multilevel approach that appeals to a wide range of interests. Further, addressing sustainability, with all its connotations, contested concepts and its interface with personal values, needs institutional clarity of purpose. Planning and implementing such change in universities presents both challenges and opportunities.
