Abstract / Description of output

The tide brings, the tide takes (14mins) - SHORT FILM

An injured woman, alone in a near abandoned hospital, begins a surreal journey which descends into a series of tormented hallucinations. Bed-ridden and unable to speak she wakes as an inmate of an institution populated by a sinister staff. Imprisoned in this psychiatric facility having no memory of why she is there and apparently without another living soul, she fears she is going insane. Caught in limbo between our world and one far more terrifying will she succumb to the nightmare or will she finally escape.

The film was produced as part of resonate | disseminate, a two year hospital engagement project led by artists Mike Inglis and Graeme Roger in collaboration with the staff of Dr Grays Hospital Elgin. The staff gave up their own time to help with the development of the script and then acted in the film. The production was shot entirely on location within the hospital. None of the staff had ever acted before. For more information on this Grampian Hospital Arts Trust project go to resonateartists.wordpress.com
