Abstract
The article describes the Catholic Church in North Carolina from 1945 to 1974. It highlights the contributions of Bishop Vincent S. Waters of the Catholic Diocese of Raleigh, to the state's Catholic Church. It describes the actions taken by Waters to address the issue of racial discrimination and segregation in some Catholic churches. The article also describes how desegregation occurred in the state.
