Wend - Woven to mend

Research output: Non-textual formArtefact

Abstract / Description of output

This linen textile has been designed and created with the prospect of future mending at its forefront. Its woven structure and visual appearance provide ‘guidelines’ within which to mend, patch and reinforce all or part of the garment or product that it will become. It is a mono-material made entirely of linen and coloured using plant-based local dyes only. Mending and reinvigoration is built into its initial design and making to enhance possibilities for longevity, durability and beautiful adaptation and future transformation.
