N2 - I agree with the existence, and importance, of the “Now-or-Never” bottleneck. However, there is a far simpler and more parsimonious solution to it. This solution is predictive processing, and the failure to view the solution that this provides fundamentally boils down to viewing prediction as one aspect of cognition, rather than as its central principle.
