Abstract

This paper explores the foundations for, and mutual influence of, art, culture and the organisational structures of our cultural institutions. Emphasising the ‘organisational turn’, a shift from hierarchical to self-organised models of organisation, she interrogates how to act and how to organise, focussing on both established and self-organised institutions, to consider whether we withdraw from existing structures or attempt to reclaim and reinvent them.
