Abstract / Description of output
This documentary bring together the old and the new in terms of storytelling and questions what is authentic.
Scottish cult pop raconteur Aidan Moffat, best known for his songs about sex, drugs and male anxiety, sets out to explore his country's past by rewriting its oldest songs and touring them round the fringes of the nation. His attempt inadvertently finds him facing the wrath of ageing ballad singer Sheila Stewart MBE who reveres these songs and considers them as belonging to her family’s centuries old history. As the tour reaches its climax at the Glasgow Barrowland, Moffat finds himself cornered when Sheila takes her last stand and this generational culture clash plays out on stage.
