Abstract

Edinburgh Unit for Forensic Anthropology Exhibition

The Edinburgh Unit for Forensic Anthropology was invited to participate in the celebrations of 2017 year of Archaeology and Cultural Heritage that were organised across Scotland. EUFA brought the knowledge of human bone anatomy and forensic anthropology in an exhibition at the Waverley Mall on the 15th of April 2017 as part of the Dig-it event. Over 100 children with their parents approached our stall and were engaged in identifying/observing plastic skeletons and trying out facial approximation on plastic 3D printed skulls using plasteline. HCA RA Farrah Nasseri and PG student Mara Karell, along with Erasmus students Konstantina Tsiminikaki (University of Crete), Panagiotis Sianis and Efthymia Tsitsou (University of Patras), volunteered for the event. This is one of the numerous OUTREACH events organised by EUFA in the past 4 years.
