An increase in stillbirths across Scotland during the Covid-19 pandemic is being investigated by experts amid concern that some pregnant women have been afraid to seek medical help.
The rate of stillbirths rose above the upper warning limit in July and was higher in April and May compared with the same months in the two previous years.
Experts have stressed that expectant women should not be alarmed but urged anyone who became concerned about themselves or their baby to see their midwife or doctor.
