I am a neurosurgery speciality trainee and a Cancer Research UK ECAT Clinical Research Fellow. My research aims at defining the functional mutated landscape of cis-regulatory elements in GBM. I combine computational and experimental methods involving interrogating of large scale genomic and epigenomic datasets coupled with key functional validation experiments. Discoveries relating to this will pave the way for personalised gene therapy approaches in the future, potentially providing definite and curative treatment strategies for GBM, and cancer in general.
