Biography

Dr Chris Low is the Director for One Health and programme director for MSc teaching in One Health at University of Edinburgh. A veterinary surgeon with extensive clinical background and knowledge of animal health & disease topics he has a considerable research reputation and has published widely with more than 80 publications that have a total of 1,400 citations and including 2 papers that individually have more than 150 citations giving an h-index of 23.

Dr Low’s research has particularly focused upon bacteriological diseases of livestock and he has been a Principal Investigator on the Wellcome Trust funded International Partnership Research Award in Veterinary Epidemiology (IPRAVE) and the Defra funded Veterinary Pathology Fellowships.  His research work has focussed on the epidemiological investigation and control of verocytotoxigenic Escherichia coli and this has included considerable contribution to International meetings and committees of enquiry.
