Biography

I qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2005 whilst working in general practice in East Lothian.  Following qualification I joined the team at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies and worked across the surgical and medical wards along with the exotic and wildlife wards.  In 2007 I took up a post in the small animal practice within the Dick vet in 2007 where I was responsible both for the management of the nursing side of the practice and for the setting up and running of all nurse clinics run at the Dick vet.  I have recently taken on the job of the Hill's Nutrition Nurse for the Hospital for Small animals and teaching final year students on small animal nutrition.

In addition to qualifying as a Registered Veterinary Nurse I became a Pet Health Counsellor in 2008 and i completed a Certificate in Small Animal Nutrition in 2011, achieving passes with distinction.

I have previously presented for CPD courses and at BVNA/BVA congress on nurse clinics and nutrition and have had articles published in various veterinary nursing publications.
