Biography

I joined the department in 2014 and am a Lecturer in Clinical Psychology.  I am the Programme Director of the MSc in Applied Psychology for Children and Young People, the training programme for child Clinical Associates in Applied Psychology (CAAPs).  I also coordinate all the Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) courses within the department associated with the MSc in Psychological Therapies and for the third year trainees on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.

I work half time at the University of Edinburgh and half time in NHS Lothian Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) where I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Lead the Eating Disorder Development Team.  

Research Interests:

I am interested in the development and treatment of eating disorders, with a particular focus on children and adolescents and the role of parents and carers.  I have a particular interest in interpersonal risk and maintaining factors in mental health difficulties in children and young people and a clinical and research interest in interpersonally orientated interventions including Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) and mentalization (inclusive of MBT and AMBIT).
