Research Interests

Deep learning (neural network compression, generative models, pose estimation), reinforcement learning (learning in large state spaces, multi-agent learning), robotics (robot navigation, cognitive architectures, human-robot interaction).

BSc in Experimental Psychology at "La Sapienza" University of Rome (Italy). MSc in Neuroscience at "La Sapienza" University of Rome (Italy). PhD in Machine Learning and Robotics at University of Plymouth (United Kingdom).

Massimiliano is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Edinburgh, and he is part of the Machine Learning group. He received both his BSc and MSc at "La Sapienza" university of Rome. After an internship at the Laboratory of Robotics and Artificial Life (CNR, Rome) he worked as robotics engineer in industry for three years. He obtained his PhD in machine learning and robotics from the University of Plymouth (UK). During the PhD he has been an intern at Snapchat (London) where he worked on deep generative models.
