Current Research Interests

  • Understanding the molecular mechanism of activity-dependent bulk endocytosis
  • Determining the physiologycal role of activity-dependent bulk endocytosis
  • Understanding how interactions between synaptic vesicle control their retireval during endocytosis
  • Understanding how presynaptic dysfunction results in human disease

My research in a nutshell

The recycling of synaptic vesicles (SVs) is central to neurotransmitter release, synaptic function and brain communication. Our laboratory studies the molecular mechanisms that control bot the endocytosis and recycling of SVs. We also investigate how presynaptic dysfunction precipitates a series of neurodegenerative and neurodevelopmental conditions and disorders of neuronal excitability.
