Research Interests

I am an STFC Advanced Fellow at the Institute for Astronomy at the University of Edinburgh.

My research interests are in formation and evolution of galaxies, active galactic nuclei (AGN), assembly history and multi-wavelength properties of galaxies, and the very high redshift Universe.

I am also interested in astronomical instrumentation. I am instrument scientist for the near-IR multi-object spectrograph called KMOS for the ESO's Very Large Telescope (VLT), and the principal investigator of MOONS, a new European project to build a powerful optical and near-IR highly multiplexed spectrograph for the VLT.
