Chancellor's Fellow in Space and Satellite Analysis
My research focuses on forests. I have measured thousands of trees in Gabon to help map forest biomass; worked on expeditions looking for new species ; investigated the institutional aspects of forest conservation and REDD+ in Indonesia. I also worked on the economics team of the UK National Ecosystem Assessment. I have a general interest in the development of environmental policy, contributing to the 3rd and 4th GLOBE climate change legislation studies. Currently I focus on the development of algorithms to process and analyse satellite Radar data in order to measure deforestation, as part of my work on the SAREDD project.
