I lead the Data Management activities of the Disease Modelling Research Group, which is part of Centre for Dementia Prevention & Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences. I carry out IT infrastructure planning, development of data integration and harmonisation methods and workflows for various data feeds. I also carry out research into Data Analytics approaches to understand pathways to dementia progression and other neurodegenerative disorders. 

Prior to my current role, I was a Research Associate at Newcastle University where I led the data harmonisation activities for APPROACH - Public-Private Research enabling Osteoarthritis Clinical Headway Project - a cross-disciplinary project involving researchers across funded by the European Innovative Medicines Initiative. 

I have also contributed to research in the areas of cerebrovascular disease including stroke when I was the Scientific Biomedical Data Researcher, Brain Imaging Centre & Edinburgh Imaging and a visiting Research Scientist, Boston Children’s Hospital. I have further contributed to various epidemiological and clinical studies carried out by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in Ghana, West Africa in various capacities including Senior Data Manager, Member of the Trial management Team and Consultant. 

My research interests are in the areas of Data Integration and Artificial Intelligence (Machine Learning, Computational Linguistics & Natural Language Processing) applied to biomedical sciences.
