Research Interests

My research interest lay in novel databases application and algorithmic musicology. My work in databases includes handling of inconsistent databases, inference of queries and transformations for databases, schema languages for RDF, and evolution of databases. Recently I started exploring using formal languages to model musical pieces with the goal of developing inference algorithms for automatic recognition, processing, and composition of music.

2002: BS/MA in Computer Science, Wrocław University, Wrocław, Poland
2007: PhD in Computer Science, University at Buffalo, Buffalo, NY, USA.

Sławek Staworko is an Assistant Professor (Maître de Conférences) at University of Lille 3 and a Research Fellow at University of Edinburgh. He has received the BS/MS degree in Computer Science from Wrocław University and the PhD degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. After finishing his PhD he joined the INRIA Lille research center as a Post-doc and afterwards he obtained a permanent post (MdC) at the University of Lille 3. In 2014, he took an extended leave of absence from University of Lille 3 and joined the database group of LFCS at University of Edinburgh.
