My research involves studying the properties of the recently discovered Higgs boson. Many outstanding questions about the Higgs boson remain, in particular about its couplings to the Standard Model fermions: the quarks and the leptons.
At the ATLAS experiment at the LHC I am searching for evidence that the Higgs boson decays into bottom quarks. An observation of the Higgs boson decaying into bottom quarks would provide strong evidence that the Higgs boson is well described in the Standard Model.
Precision measurements of the Higgs boson couplings to the top, bottom and charm quarks will require new electron-positron colliders. I am working with the ILC and CLIC collaborations in order to understand the potential of these proposed colliders to measure the properties of the Higgs boson.
