I began my career in education as a primary teacher working in Fife, Scotland. I then spent two years teaching in an elementary school in North Carolina, USA, I returned to Scotland to continue teaching and study for an MSc in Education. I have been a lecturer at Moray House since 2004. I currently teach on the MSc Educational Leadership, MTeach (Chartered Teacher) and EdD programmes. I am also involved in several CPD projects with schools focusing on practitioner enquiry initiatives.

Current Research Interests

  • digital learning environments and the role of new technologies in education;
  • the professional development of teachers, teachers as leaders, Chartered Teacher study and the nature and role of action research in the classroom;
  • educational leadership and professional learning
  • the use of visual methods in research.
