Abstract

This paper traces the transformations in resistance to globalization in the 21st century and studies the question of migration through theories of diaspora, diversity and creolisation. While the rise of populist movements in Britain and America, it is important to consider the positive role of cosmopolitanism and alternatives to the nationalist model. the complexity of the migrant in-between, interstitial condition remains representative in important ways of the world that we all inhabit, a world in which people are often scattered, in which the local interpenetrates the global and vice versa in a way that it never did previously in human history.
